Brazil is South America’s largest country. It also has the largest number of licensed Radio Amateurs at 32,000. Working all Brazilian states is somewhat tough since many states are not heavily populated. There is an easier way to get started collecting Brazilian awards. The European ROS Club issues the Worked Different Amateur Radio – Brazil Award for working at least 25 different Brazilian Hams.
Once you’ve received your 25 station certificate you can continue your Brazilian adventure in two different ways. First, additional certificates are available for working additional unique stations. The current maximum count is 1,000 stations. Secondly, you can accumulate unique stations on any single band from 160M through 10M. This includes the 60M band.
The colorful certificates include scenes from around Brazil. The 50 station certificate featuring Christ the Redeemer statue overlooking Rio de Janeiro is particularly nice.
The Worked Different Amateur Radio – Brazil Award is just one of many Country QSO Count Awards that are offered by multiple groups.
To apply for the Worked Different Amateur Radio – Brazil Award, and all other ERC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. ERC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
