Australia is about as far from the United States as you can get. The European Ros Club (ERC) issues the Worked Different Amateur Radio – Australia award for making contact with a given number of unique stations in the country on the other side of the planet.
To qualify for the award you must have made contacts with at least 10 different stations in Australia. After that, you can receive additional certificates for an ever increasing number of stations. The current top level award requires contacts with 2,000 different stations. That represents about 13% of all licensed Hams in the country!
As if 16 separate certificates leading up to the 2,000 station award not enough to chase, you can do the same per band as well. Given 10 individual bands and the mixed band award, that comes out to 176 possible certificates.

The award certificate features a part of the Australian flag over an outline of the map of the country. The certificate design appears to be the same for all levels and bands.
To apply for the Worked Different Amateur Radio – Australia Award, and all other ERC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. ERC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
