England is the most populous entity within the United Kingdom. For Amateur Radio purposes, like in Soccer/Football, it’s treated as a separate country. The FT8 Digital Mode Club (FT8DMC) offers the Worked English Stations Award (WESA) for making contact with a given number of different English stations.
The entry point for the first award is just 10 unique stations. Additional certificates commemorate working 25 or 50 stations.
The certificates sport a colorful photo of a scene in England. Stonehenge graces the entry level 10 contact certificate. London’s Tower Bridge shows up on the 25 station award. All certificates also show a snippet of the English flag, the St. George’s Cross, not to be confused with the Union Jack of the United Kingdom.
To apply for the Worked English Stations Award, and all other FT8DMC awards, you must install the UltimateAAC application on a Windows machine. That application scans your WSJT-X ADIF log file and will inform you when you’ve qualified for the award at various levels. FT8DMC issues the award in digital form only (JPG or PDF) with no printing or shipping costs. In fact, the award is completely free, like all of their other awards.
